With the objective of making Thua Thien Hue become one of the big economic , cultural , scientific - technological , medical , training centers of the country and the region of Southeast Asia , the PPC (Provincial People’s Committee) has launched a specific developing strategy. Especially, Information Technology is one of the sectors of interest. Furthermore, Thua Thien Hue is one of the provinces which are highly evaluated of the readiness index for IT development and application (ICT index). In particular, it is ranked as the 4th in 2009, 6th in 2010, 5th in 2011, 7th in 2012 and ranked 6th out of 63 provinces in the country in 2013.
Thua Thien Hue has met the favorable conditions to invest.
Policy
PPC has many policies and regulations to encourage investment in many areas , including much priority to Information Technology. For example, the Dispatch 02/HDND-THKT dated 03 / 01 / 2012 of the Standing Committee of the provincial Council agrees to issue incentives to invest in the province of Thua Thien Hue , Decision No. 01 / 2013 dated 05/1/2013 QD - PPC promulgate regulations of some incentive policies and investment support in the province of Thua Thien Hue .
Workforce
Thua Thien Hue is one of three largest training centers of human resources of the country with 8 high quality colleges, 3 faculties and many colleges as well as vocational schools. Currently, there are about 580 professors, assistant professors , PhDs. The annual average of 10,000 new bachelors with college degree, over 5,000 people from the Private Universities , Colleges , Vocational schools, etc... which meet the manpower needs of the companies . In particular, the training IT majors are now 03 universities, 2 colleges and Training Center for International Programming at Hue-Aptech which graduates every year about 500 people. College of Foreign Languages and departments of Foreign Language at different colleges annually train professional students who can work in oversea projects.
Telecommunications infrastructure
Telecommunications infrastructure system in Thua Thien Hue is built completely uniformly with the new technology, high bandwidth, and high speed with multi-direction. It is connected directly through international ports to ensure the safety and efficiency with international bandwidth is 10Gbs and ready to upgrade in the next year.
