On the morning of March 5, the Information Technology and Electronics Association of Thua Thien Hue province in collaboration with the University of Science and Hue University held the opening program of Hue-ICT Challenge 2023 and the programming contest for high school students.

According to the report of the Organizer of the Contest, this year's contest has 1,334 contestants from 377 schools/46 provinces and cities in the country eligible to compete. The number of candidates this year is 4 times larger than the first time in 2022, in which provinces/cities have students and many schools participate: Thua Thien Hue (338 students/60 schools); Da Nang (148 students/32 schools); Quang Tri (134 students/34 schools); Dak Lak (99 students/26 schools); Binh Dinh (90 students/26 schools); Phu Yen (80 students/21 schools); Quang Binh (73 students/21 schools); Quang Nam (66 students/11 schools); Gia Lai (48 students/15 schools); Nghe An (32 students/22 schools); Ho Chi Minh City (31 students/16 schools)... has shown that the coverage of the Contest is not limited to Thua Thien Hue but extends to the Central region – Central Highlands as well as the whole country.

Speaking at the opening program, Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee Phan Ngoc Tho praised the initiative and activeness of the contest's organizing committee, the support of departments and branches, and the sponsorship of enterprises for the contest; at the same time, he expected that with the positive signal from the participation of a large number of students from 46 provinces and cities in the country this year (even if only the second year), in the coming time, the contest could be upgraded at the national level.
Hue - ICT Challenge is held annually to promote creative activities, passion for research in the field of IT and communication of students of colleges and universities in Thua Thien Hue province; build a bridge between government parties - associations, organizations, enterprises, partners in the information technology and electronics and telecommunications industry - colleges and universities; detect meaningful and practical ideas or applications, thereby having the necessary support to complete and participate in product and creative ideas contests at provincial and national levels.

After the Opening Ceremony, candidates will log in to the exam system at http://oj.husc.edu.vn to take the exam online. During the competition, contestants must follow the organizer's rules to maintain fairness and openness (turn on the camera during the contest, do not exchange with others, do not copy the exam of other contestants...). To avoid plagiarism, the organizers set up an automatic scoring system with a team of professional examiners to analyze and use the duplicate source code checking system to check the tests. Tests with the same source code from 90% or more, the Organizing Committee will consider copying the test of the contestant, in case of conclusion of copying the test, the test is considered a violation of the exam rules and is not considered to participate in the final round.

Contestants participate in the online exam after the program under the supervision of the Contest BTC.
